Vamoto public map database offer — ODbL 1.0 Copyright OpenStreetMap contributors. Vamoto's OSM-derived routing, POI, address and scenic databases in the publicly distributed packs are offered under the Open Database Licence 1.0: https://opendatacommons.org/licenses/odbl/1-0/ Full licence text: https://vamoto.app/assets/legal/odbl.txt These are data downloads, not an app installer or a paid API. No account, subscription, licence key or agreement restricting ODbL rights is required. Private ride/account data and user-imported tracks are not part of this offer. The files are unencrypted. Preserve the licence and attribution when reusing the covered databases; share-alike applies as described in ODbL. Nothing in Vamoto's application/subscription terms limits those data rights. 1. GET https://tiles.vamoto.app/packs/v2/latest.json It identifies build_id, the catalog URL, catalog_bytes and catalog_sha256. 2. Download that catalog, check its SHA-256, decompress gzip, and parse JSON. Use its base URL, engine_version, formats, hier, cells and collections. Keep the build_id/catalog URL to identify the exact snapshot you received. 3. Each non-null artifact descriptor in cells/hier advertises bytes and SHA-256. Only request advertised artifacts; not every cell has every layer. Paths relative to catalog.base: routing/2/.gph cell routing graph basemap/.mbtiles vector map tiles (SQLite/MVT) aux/.json.gz POIs, scenic stretches, traffic signals addr/.bin streets and addresses basemap/overview.mbtiles low-zoom overview Routing hierarchy artifacts are listed separately in hier and needed to reconstruct routing across cells: routing/0/.gph and routing/1/.gph. Artifact descriptors are [bytes, sha256] arrays. Each cell's h list names its required hierarchy IDs; use hier's level-keyed entries to resolve them. 4. Download the cells/hierarchy needed for a region or iterate all advertised files to obtain the complete published database. Use SHA-256 verification. Existing downloads are ordinary copies you may keep and reuse under ODbL. Valhalla .gph files use the engine-version-specific Valhalla binary tile format; the public upstream engine documents the underlying format: https://github.com/valhalla/valhalla Vamoto graph changes include surface inference and scenic/curve information. These modified database bytes, not merely a link to a newer unmodified OSM snapshot, are the subject of this offer. Auxiliary .json.gz files decompress directly to UTF-8 JSON. The address files use vaddr.v1 framing: bytes 0..3 are ASCII "VADR", byte 4 is version 1, bytes 5..8 are an unsigned little-endian 32-bit length N. Bytes 9..(9+N-1) contain an independent gzip member with the streets JSON; the remaining bytes contain another independent gzip member with the addresses JSON. Decompress each member separately and parse UTF-8 JSON. No Vamoto app or account is needed. MBTiles are standard SQLite databases; vector payloads use the OpenMapTiles schema. Map design/rendered works retain separately stated OMT/Liberty design licences. Natural Earth and any included Wikidata structured names retain their public-domain/CC0 status. Reports of missing access are compliance issues, not a request to purchase another licence.
